My People Are Foolish

by Terry Wane Benton

I find it remarkable that the Old Testament Bible was written by Jews for Jews, but does not compliment these people. It calls them stiffnecked and displays a long history of disobedience to God, and yet people today want us to think that they just "made it up."

What? If I am going to just make up a story I am not going to compile book after book that is critical of me and makes me look bad the majority of the time and pretend it is the truth from our God and Creator.

This book even shows them abusing their own prophet Jeremiah. When he says, "For My people are foolish, They have not known Me (God). They are silly (foolish) children, and they have no understanding. They are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge" (Jeremiah 4:22), it seems that these people making up the story would be real quick to disavow these writings as real messages from God. Why would anyone make up a story like that?

It seems to me that the Bible is just brutally honest with facts, even facts we don't like to face. Folks, this is the Word of God!
