My fiance got a girl pregnant, is on drugs, is in jail, and lies. What should I do?

Question:

Hello,

I need advice. My fiance and I have a son together. He went away to drug rehab but lied to people saying he was in school. He got a 17-year-old girl pregnant, but he doesn't know that I know. He was dating her and once she told him she was pregnant he left her. Well, really he came back home and got himself arrested, so he would get kicked out of his drug program. He is a very big liar. He doesn't take care of the son he has already. I'm mad about the pregnancy, but I feel bad for her because he is not a good father to my son. He's in jail right now. He lies about his life. He's a gang member, a drug addict (meth), and hits. I need help because I know he did get her pregnant. He's 23 years old and the girl is 17. I think the girl should keep God's gift and make sure every day of that child's life it knows mommy is always going to be there. But what should I do?

Answer:

You can see the problems in others, but you don't see the same in yourself. You are having sex with a bum without being married. You then get upset with him because he decided to repeat his sins with another girl. Yes, I feel bad for her, but I also feel bad for you. You know he is bad news; yet, you continue to refer to him as your fiance. Why are you planning to marry a boy who is clearly unfit to be a husband or a father? Perhaps one day he will straighten out his life, but you can wait for a possibility to happen. You have your own life to straighten out and a son to take care of. Your son needs a good parent.

What should you do? Stop having sex outside of marriage. Get yourself right with God. "Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God" (I Corinthians 6:9-11). Find a steady job. "Now such persons we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to work in quiet fashion and eat their own bread" (II Thessalonians 3:12). Improve yourself so you are able to strengthen your son.
