Why is God giving me signs but not my former boyfriend?

Question:

I have been with a man for six years whom I care deeply for, we split up by his choice.

I have been distraught and praying to God to show me signs specific signs.  I said, "God if I am supposed to be with him please let me win more than $1.00 on this lottery ticket." I won $100.00 on it. This has occurred more than one time; as matter of fact, it has happened four times in the past month since I began praying for signs.  Or, "God if I am supposed to be with him I will hear from him and he texts and or calls."  Why would God show me all these signs but not show him? He is still pursuing the other woman. God is not showing him what he is showing me?  What do I do?  I am so exhausted from trying to figure it out. I don't know if God is saying, "Yes, he is the one" or just to wait for God's time.

Please help me understand and do God's will.

Answer:

God doesn't send signs as you imagine. Signs are miracles and winning a small amount in the lottery is not a miracle. See: Does God send us signs? But since gambling is wrong (see: Is Gambling Sinful?) what you are claiming is that God is helping you sin as a sign. "Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone" (James 1:13).

Unfortunately with today's casual attitude toward relationships, I can't help but notice that you did not mention that you had been married to the man you were with. If you were involved in fornication with this man, why would you expect God to bring him back so that this sin can continue?

Finally, God does not take away any person's free will. This man left by his own choice. Whether he changes his mind will be his choice. Asking God to force a person to go against his will is going against God's stated will.
