What do I do? The girl I got pregnant wants me to marry her

Question:

I had a girl I loved so much. I visited her parents and relatives and visited mine too. We agreed to marry, but before the marriage, it was found out that I had impregnated her. I left her silently and married another girl. I did this because I am a church officer. I was afraid of church discipline. Now the first girl is saying I should marry her. What should I do?

Answer:

You need to do some serious repenting of your sins. You claim to be religious, but you have been violating the laws of Christ. "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God" (I Corinthians 6:9-10). Not only did you commit fornication, but you abandoned your fiancee and your child so as to continue to pretend that you are righteous. In the Old Testament God got especially angry with people who pretended to follow God while sinning. What you have done is no different.

You married a woman. That marriage is for a lifetime (Romans 7:2-3). You have a duty to support your child, but you cannot marry the woman you got pregnant because you married someone else. The sins you've committed are not fixed with the additional sin of adultery.
