Should I apologize again to a man who is also seeing another woman?

Question:

Hello,

I have been talking to this guy for just under a year. He decided that he was saved and wanted to give himself to Christ. He and I have engaged in sex already. Anyway, he met this girl who has been helping him out in his life. He uses her car to get to and from work, and they hang out all the time. The girl began to like him, and he told her that he is not ready for a relationship, which is the same thing he told me. Meanwhile, he introduced the girl to his family and friends, and they go out all the time.

He and I are in different states. I honestly feel like he likes the girl and is in denial. Recently, I went to see him. The vibe he gave me seemed very different. He made a mistake and called me her name. As a result, I got mad and punched him. I apologized numerous times and asked for forgiveness. He said that more than likely he will not talk to me ever again.

My question is should I leave that relationship between him and me alone since it was disintegrating anyway? Or should I call him and tell him that I am truly sorry, and I still love him?

Answer:

I can't fathom why you think that a guy who is sinning with you somehow becomes a better person when he adds hypocrisy on top of it. "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God" (I Corinthians 6:9-10).

I gather from what you said that he has been having sex with you while being involved with another girl and likely having sex with her, all the while telling both of you that he can't commit himself to anyone at this time.

You need to stop the fornication. Since he is encouraging you to sin, that would mean stop being involved with this man. Don't give yourself away so cheaply to no-good men. Follow Christ and if a man wants you, he needs to treat you with respect and marry you before you have sex.
