My boyfriend left me and his child. Any advice?

Question:

I have been in a relationship for 11 years. We have a child and used to get into it about my other kids sometimes. He's been cheating on me for over a year. I found out earlier this year, but he said he was sorry and I was the one he wanted to marry. The girl continued to call and we argued. This fall he left for good. I got behind on the bills and almost got put out. Now he's still with the girl, won't talk to me or really see his child!

I know only God can help and I believe and receive. Please help with a word of wisdom!

Answer:

You've been having sex with a man without being married to him and you have shacked up with other men in the past as well. While you wish to pretend there was a commitment, the reality of the situation is that there never was one. That he is now committing the same sins with another woman is not surprising. Despite his words, he hasn't married you in eleven years. He never planned on marrying you.

I'm curious. When you break God's laws, why would you expect God's help? "Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge" (Hebrews 13:4). As Jesus asked, "But why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do the things which I say?" (Luke 6:46).
