Live Differently
by Zeke Flores
"You shall consecrate yourselves therefore and be holy, for I am Yahweh your God" (Leviticus 20:7).
Leviticus 20 is intense. It lists serious sins and their consequences. But the heart behind it is God calling His people to live differently. Not because He wanted to scare them, but because He wanted to protect them. Sin destroys. Holiness brings life.
God wasn’t trying to make Israel miserable. He was setting them apart so they could flourish. Holiness isn’t about restriction; it’s about alignment with God’s goodwill.
This verse reminds us that holiness starts with consecration, choosing to belong fully to God. It’s a daily decision to say, “Lord, my life is Yours.” Not out of fear, but out of trust.
If God is highlighting an area where you need to step away from something harmful, don’t ignore it. He’s not trying to take joy from you. He’s trying to give you freedom.
Choose holiness today. It leads to life.
