I feel the Lord doesn’t want me to be happy because He has not sent me a wife

Question:

I feel like the Lord does not want me to be happy because He has not sent me the right woman yet that I want to marry. I am already 34 years old and I have a very good job and a lot of good things going on. It just seems like women only want the losers and little boys anymore and not a real men.

Answer:

Odd, the Bible talks about why God created man in Ecclesiastes and the conclusion was not so that God could make each person happy. "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man's all. For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil" (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14).

"He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you nut to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?" (Micah 6:8).

"And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments of the LORD and His statutes which I command you today for your good?" (Deuteronomy 10:12-13).

Following God's laws is good for us and brings us joy, but that is different from saying that God wants you to be happy. God does not require a man to marry. It is something good for men, but He doesn't say every man must be married, so if you want to get married, you will have to put some effort into finding a good woman.

There are plenty of good women out there, if you can't find one in your immediate area, start traveling to neighboring areas. Also, look at yourself to see if your requirements in a wife are perhaps too demanding.
