Do you still have free will after accepting God?
Question:
I had one of our members ask me a question I'm not sure how to answer. The question is: Do Christians who have accepted God still have free will?
Answer:
If a Christian did not have free will, then he could not be lost. See: There's No Security for the Believer in "Once Saved, Always Saved".
Submitting to God's will is a choice that each person makes. The person can still choose to be disobedient after choosing to follow God. The Israelites have illustrated this repeatedly. For example, 40 days after telling Moses and God that they would follow the covenant (Exodus 24:7), the Israelites made an idol (Exodus 32). They freely chose to follow God and then freely chose to disobey God.
