What if Judas had given Jesus permission to kill him?

Question:

There is a question I have about Judas in the gospels who betrayed Jesus and committed suicide. I was curious that if Judas instead of committing suicide, decided to give Jesus permission to kill him, do you think that Jesus would have done that?

Jesus could decide that since he is God and has all authority, he can do anything he feels like and it's not sin because he is God.

The fact that somebody gave him permission to kill him and Jesus would have clearly hated Judas forever for what Judas had done, do you think that Jesus would have actually killed Judas?

Answer:

There are numerous errors behind your question.

First, you are assuming that people have the authority to tell God when they want to die. People have begged God to allow them to die (such as Job), but even in this, they are acknowledging that the time of their death is in God's hands and not their own.

Second, you can't give someone permission for something they already have. Our lives are already in God's hands. See Who controls when we die?

Third, God cannot violate His own nature. God cannot sin, so doing something sinful won't happen just because He is God.

Fourth, you assume Jesus hated Judas. It appears to me that Jesus feels sorry for Judas. It would have been possible for Judas to have repented of his sins (Ezekiel 18:30-32).
