Your articles are not the gospel, they only use the gospel

Question:

I was happy to read your statement on your home page and hope to visit you when am in Omaha. What bothers me is "the articles you write and put on the site." The New Testament church must and should only preach the word of God. Most, or all of the articles are not the "inspired word" of God. They rather use the "inspired word" of God to bring people to Christ. When in Mark 16:15, "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." Therefore we have to preach the gospel as Jesus commanded His disciples to do and that is the commission of the New Testament Church.

Thank you.

Answer:

None of the articles on La Vista's site are inspired since the gift of prophecy ended long ago. "Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away" (I Corinthians 13:8-10).

Teaching the Gospel is teaching the Bible, the New Testament in particular. Teaching involves giving explanations of the meaning of passages. "And Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God. Then all the people answered, "Amen, Amen!" while lifting up their hands. And they bowed their heads and worshiped the LORD with their faces to the ground. Also Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, helped the people to understand the Law; and the people stood in their place" (Nehemiah 8:6-7). You can see this when Peter gave the first sermon: "And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation" " (Acts 2:40). Preaching and teaching are not just reading from the Bible, though it involves readings.
