Would it be a sin to leave a congregation that accepts sin among its members?

Question:

I worship at a congregation where there is no preacher, elder, or deacons. The brothers serving on the Lord's table are living with girlfriends, playing the lottery, and drinking. I'm a sister in the congregation. I'm trying to go to heaven. I can't worship properly with all this before me. Is it a sin if I go somewhere else to worship?

Thanks. I am just trying to make it to heaven.

Answer:

I would go a step further and say that it would be dangerous to remain with a group that demonstrates no love for Christ (John 14:15). "How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers!" (Psalms 1:1).
