Why would God allow me to be born a homosexual?

Question:

Hi, Man of God,

My question is this: if being gay is a sin, why would our God allow me to be born like that?

Secondly, I have been praying to God that if I'm wrong, he must fix me. But until now, nothing. I believe that God said Ask, Seek and Knock. He's not like men to promise but not do. I'm not a mistake, that much I know. God doesn't make mistakes at all.

So what is your advice man of God?

Answer:

The Bible teaches that no one is born a sinner. Sin happens when a person chooses to break God's law. "Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness" (I John 3:4). No one is born a thief or a drunkard or a fornicator. Some choose to become one of these. Homosexuality is no different. Some people choose to have sex with members of the same gender.

"Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God" (I Corinthians 6:9-11).

If you are having sex with other men, then it is by your choice and not God's since you are going against God's will. Yet, you are blaming God for your decisions.

Notice that you are saying, "If it is a sin, then take it away." But that request means that you do not believe that God has said homosexuality is a sin. "Realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching" (I Timothy 1:9-10). Then you take it a step further and conclude that God must find homosexuality acceptable because He does stop you from committing this sin. Do you conclude the same for other sins? Because sins continue, it does not mean God approves of them.

God did not make a mistake, but you did. "Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar" (Romans 3:4). Own up to your bad choices and start making good ones.
