What do you think people did before marriage was invented?

Question:

I think you should revaluate your teaching kids that they should wait until marriage to have sex. There's nothing wrong with it! I've been having sex with my girlfriend for years. Besides what do you think people did before marriage was invented?

Answer:

The actual letter was vastly more rude and crude. I was inclined to just discard it, but I decided to write a brief summary to point out how little people know.

"Is there anything of which it may be said, "See, this is new"? It has already been in ancient times before us. There is no remembrance of former things, Nor will there be any remembrance of things that are to come By those who will come after" (Ecclesiastes 1:10-11).

Evolutionary thinking influences us in numerous ways. We assume that ancient men lived in caves and wore little clothing and most of that crudely made. We assume that the ideas which we take for granted had to have gradually developed over centuries.

None of this is based on evidence or information. It is assumed because we lack evidence and men always assume the current generation is always superior to past generations.

In the case of marriage. Men did nothing prior to marriage because marriage was instituted at the time the first woman was introduced to the first man.

"And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. And Adam said: "This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man." Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh" (Genesis 2:21-24).

Marriage existed before fornication was invented.
