Talking About the Gospel
by Zeke Flores
Have you ever tried to share the gospel with someone? Maybe your family, friends, or co-workers? If you have, you know it can be a little intimidating. If they reject it, it can be downright disappointing. But who knows what will later come from the seed you’ve planted?
In his letters to the Thessalonians, Paul credits any good his work may have done to God. Now, it was Paul who first preached to them and kindled the flame of belief (Acts 17:1-4), but instead of taking credit, he thanked God.
There are some valuable lessons for us: speak the gospel boldly, trust the Lord, let God give the growth, and thank Him when it takes root.
"But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth" (II Thessalonians 2:13).
