My commendations to the congregation on the great work that they are doing

Question:

Dear Brother,

I am reading for the first time Who We Are on your home page even though I have visited this site for years. I have been preaching for over forty years. I have preached most of what is on that page and told congregations and individuals that things like what is on that page is the mission of the Lord's church. Unfortunately in my country, many are using the Lord's money for building expansion, social and community projects, and have little or no budget for the souls of lost men.

Please convey my commendations to the congregation on the great work that they are doing.

p.s. I have also used materials from your website for Bible class and sermon preparation.

In Christ's service.

Answer:

As Paul pointed out, too many only see the message of salvation as a way to make money. "If anyone advocates a different doctrine and does not agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness, he is conceited and understands nothing; but he has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words, out of which arise envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions, and constant friction between men of depraved mind and deprived of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain" (I Timothy 6:3-5). Thus, the incentive is to bring in things that attract crowds.

It is good to hear that you stand for the truth and work at spreading it to others. I'm glad to hear that the website is helping you in some small way.
