I’ve been living with a man for years, but now that he is offering to marry me, I’m not certain if he is the right man for me

Question:

I am in a relationship for some years now and during this period I have gotten kids with this man. I have been frustrated in different ways by him. Now he is saying he will do the right thing by paying my bride price. Sir, I am so scared. I don't if I will be happy in this marriage because I have high blood pressure. Sir, I want to know if he is the right man for me.

Thanks.

Answer:

You made the choice years ago by living a pretense of marriage with this man. Now that this man wants to do what he should have done years ago, suddenly you claim that you are certain. I'm sorry, but your actions speak far louder than your words. If this man was so bad, you would not have remained in a relationship with him for so long.

What you are saying is that you would rather sin against God than live according to His teachings. "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God" (I Corinthians 6:9-10).
