I’m afraid I’ll be left behind in the rapture

Question:

Hello!

I am a born-again Christian. I became one about two years ago, and now I am feeling more doubt about my faith. Then I would find myself scared of the rapture and being left behind. I would call my family if I was home alone to see if I wasn't left behind. Then I question myself: Why would I be scared if I had no faith? Then it all turns into a big mess.

Please help.

Answer:

Faith is trusting. "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him" (Hebrews 11:6). You have to have full confidence that God exists and that God rewards His followers. That faith is based on the evidence that the Bible presents to show that God is real and that He keeps His promises. "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17).

Now the things you are scared of are misdirected. "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction" (Proverbs 1:7). We should have some fear that we won't make it to heaven if we fall into sin. "Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it" (Hebrews 4:1). It is that fear that serves as a reason to not give into sin. But what you are particularly afraid of is something that is not taught in the Bible. See:
