God Does the Seemingly Impossible

by Zeke Flores

God seems to delight in doing the impossible.

Aside from the glorious power of creation itself, He has done the unimaginable again and again. From an old man and an old woman, he brought forth a son who would be the child of promise for a nation. Centuries later that nation would be led to freedom from the iron grip of the world's superpower. Still centuries later, through a tiny bud from a seemingly withered stump, when man was lost like sheep without a shepherd, He brought forth another Son, His Son, to bear the fruit of a new nation; a nation of His children, a kingdom of priests. Who else could do such an impossible thing? The God who gave His Son for you, that's who!

"Then a shoot will grow from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots will bear fruit" (Isaiah 11:1).
