Didn’t Joel say that young men would dream dreams?

Question:

You said prophecies would cease, but it also says in the Bible young men will dream dreams and the older would have visions or something along those lines, so I'm really confused.

Answer:

God said, "Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away" (I Corinthians 13:8-10). I simply accept the fact that God said prophecy would end when the Bible was completed (James 1:25; Jude 3).

Yes, Joel, looking forward to the time of Christ and the establishment of the church, said that people would prophesy (Joel 2:28-32). Peter said that this prophecy was fulfilled as the disciples began speaking in tongues on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:15ff). But nothing in Joel's prophecy stated that these things would continue forever.
