Could God have sent a married man to be my husband?

Question:

Could a man who is married be the husband God sent to me? The reason why I ask this question is that I have never felt this way about anyone, especially someone who is married. The shocking thing is that he feels the same way that I feel, and we both are trying to figure out why this is happening.

Answer:

God does not promote evil. You are contemplating committing adultery. This is not from God. "Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone" (James 1:13). Stop calling your emotions a leading from God because they are nothing but your worldly desires.

It is not at all surprising that he claims that he feels the same thing. He is wanting to commit adultery by leaving his wife. Such a man would say just about anything if it means being able to have sex.

Even if he divorced his wife, you could not rightly marry him. "Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries one who is divorced from a husband commits adultery" (Luke 16:18).
