Can violence and wars end?

Question:

We usually hear of killings, fighting, and wars, each and every day these days. All of us would love it if these would end. The question is: Can these acts of violence and wars end?

Answer:

"What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is not the source your pleasures that wage war in your members? You lust and do not have; so you commit murder. You are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures" (James 4:1-3).

So long as there are selfish people in the world, conflicts will continue. "The violence of the wicked will drag them away, because they refuse to act with justice" (Proverbs 21:7). This world has been marred by sin and it will remain that way until the world ends. It is only in heaven that you'll find true peace because there no sin will enter into it. "In the daytime (for there will be no night there) its gates will never be closed; and they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it; and nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life" (Revelation 21:25-27).
