Can a Christian who knowingly commits fornication be forgiven?

Question:

Is the sin of having sex many times before marriage while being a Christian and knowing it was a sin forgivable? I have been raised up in a Christian family and I am a Christian myself and believe in Jesus. I believe I am saved. Even though I know this and I clearly know that fornication (sex before marriage) is a sin, I have had sex at various times and many times with different women before marriage. I am still having sex before marriage, even though I know it is a sin. Can God still forgive me and can I still go to heaven?

Answer:

All sins are forgivable if the person is willing to stop sinning. For example, Esau wasn't forgiven because he refused to repent. "Looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled; that there be no immoral or godless person like Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal. For you know that even afterwards, when he desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought for it with tears" (Hebrews 12:17).

Right now you are not saved because you choose to remain in your sins. "Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God" (I Corinthians 6:9-11). You have to give up your sins and become a real Christian by doing things God's way and not your own.
