Atonement
by Zeke Flores
"For it is on this day that atonement shall be made for you to cleanse you; you will be clean from all your sins before Yahweh" (Leviticus 16:30).
Leviticus 16 describes the Day of Atonement, the most important day in Israel's calendar. Once a year, the high priest entered the Holy of Holies to deal with the sins of the entire nation. It was a day of humility, honesty, and deep gratitude. God was giving His people a clean slate.
We need that reminder. We carry guilt longer than we should. We replay mistakes. We assume God is still disappointed. But this verse shows God's heart. He wanted His people clean. Not halfway, not temporarily, but fully.
Today, we don't wait for a special day. Jesus has already opened the way. But the principle remains: God wants you to walk in the freedom of forgiveness. Not dragging shame behind you. Not living like you're still unclean.
If something has been weighing on your heart, bring it to God. Let Him cleanse you. Let Him restore your peace. Let Him lift your guilt.
