Are you a church that constantly talks about Obama and abortion?

Question:

Is your church a place where I am going to constantly hear about Obama and abortion? Do you discuss politics? Are these topics that are continually touched upon?

I would appreciate an honest answer. Thank you.

Answer:

You can look through the Sermons and see what is discussed here. Moral topics are discussed and why abortions are wrong is mentioned once in a while. Political figures and political issues might be mentioned, but only to illustrate that some teaching of God does have modern-day application. People and events in the news make recognizable illustrations -- just as Jesus and the disciples sometimes mentioned political figures of their day (Matthew 22:21; Mark 6:18; Luke 13:31-33).

But continually? No, because there are numerous subjects in the Scriptures that need to be taught, and sticking to just a few is not good for a congregation. "For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God" (Acts 20:27).
