God’s Character Remains the Same

by Zeke Flores

"God is not a man, that He would lie, nor a son of man, that He repent" (Numbers 23:19).

Balaam tried to curse Israel, but he couldn't. God had already blessed them. No human plan could override God’s promise. Balaam learned that God’s word is steady and unshakable.

This is a powerful truth for us. People change. Circumstances shift. Emotions rise and fall. But God’s character stays the same. His promises don’t wobble. His faithfulness doesn’t depend on our performance. When He says something, He means it.

We often struggle with doubt because we project human inconsistency onto God, but He isn’t like us. He doesn’t make promises He can’t keep. He doesn’t forget what He said. He doesn’t get tired of us. He’s not fickle.

If you’re wrestling with uncertainty, anchor yourself in this verse. God’s word is solid ground so you can trust Him even when everything else feels unstable.
