Is it bad to date an older person?

Please, do you think it's OK for me to love someone who is about 6-7 years older than me? I'm just 19 and I'm really confused. Most of my friends aren't in support of it, and I'm really lost. Should I just forget this guy?

Sometimes an older man wants to date a younger woman because she is not as experienced and, thus, easier to manipulate into having sex without getting married.
For teenage girls, there is a natural tendency to desire an older man. Boys tend to grow up later than girls, so boys your own age appear to be childish. They seem to be not as stable or embarrassing. And girls without a father in their lives are especially drawn to an older man who appears to be a father figure.
