Who created God?

Question:

If God created the universe, then who created God? And who created that person who created God?

Answer:

There is a law that says for every effect there is a cause. Thus, there is a chain of causes leads up to a particular effect. But what most people don't consider is that this same law implies that somewhere there must be a first cause -- something that initially started the chain of events because the chain cannot be infinite.

In evolution, that something is matter. In that theory, the universe started with a bang from a super-condensed particle. But what caused the initial bang? It could not have caused itself. Nor is it possible for matter to be eternal. These are issues that are generally avoided.

But Christians understand that God is eternal. There is no beginning or end for God. It is the eternal God who is the initial cause.
