What if a person can’t afford the fee for a baptismal service?

Question:

I am worried if one cannot get baptized just because they cannot afford to pay for the service and just because they have no money to afford a baptism. If that is the case, would that person be exempt from the requirement for baptism and still be saved?

Answer:

Fee? What fee? There is no mention in the Bible that anyone was asked to pay money, or anything else, to become a Christian. If someone is charging a fee, you are in the wrong place. Run for your eternal life's sake and find a church that follows the Bible and not Mammon. Concerning such people, Paul said they are "men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself" (I Timothy 6:5).

"Did I commit sin in humbling myself that you might be exalted, because I preached the gospel of God to you free of charge?" (II Corinthians 11:7).
