What do I do? My husband starting to use drugs again

Question:

I have been married for over 30 years. We own our own business and work very hard. My husband and I have weathered many storms in our marriage. He has cheated on me, drinks a lot, does drugs, lied, and was verbally abusive to me. We have worked so many problems out with each other. Because of all this, I sustained in our marriage and I have become very close to God, which I am very thankful for this. I believe sometimes you have to go through hell to get to heaven. Things are going well; however, my husband is using drugs again and lying to me. My heart hurts and I don't if I want to go through it again. He does try to help himself sometimes, but he is not consistent. I have tried to tell him to put God in his heart and that He will help him through anything, but drugs are winning. I just needed to tell someone because I don't know what to do.

Answer:

I'm sorry that you continue to have difficulties in your life. There isn't much I can offer other than to encourage you for his sake to do what is necessary to get him back off drugs and on the right track. Remember, "love is patient ..." (I Corinthians 13:4).
