What about people leading studies while wearing t-shirts with inappropriate prints?
Question:
Good day, sir,
I don't know if it's just me, but it doesn't sit right with me that brothers can lead a study on Wednesday wearing t-shirts with big spider prints in front and prints of the joker. What's your take on it?
Thanks.
Answer:
"But beware lest somehow this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to those who are weak" (I Corinthians 8:9).
What a person selects to wear says a lot about how they think. See What Does Your Clothing Say? Therefore, take the person aside and gently point out that he may be more effective as a teacher if the clothing he chooses doesn't distract from his message. Even overly casual clothing can send a quiet message of "I don't care" to the person's students. See Does a Leader's Appearance Matter Anymore?
