True Prophets

"I will put My words in his mouth" (Deuteronomy 18:18).

Deuteronomy 18 introduces the promise of a prophet like Moses. Israel needed reliable guidance, not guesswork or superstition.

This chapter contrasts true prophets with false ones. The difference isn’t style; it’s source. True prophets speak what God says while false prophets speak what people want to hear. Moses wants Israel to evaluate messages based on accuracy and alignment with God’s character not by how much the message appeals to them..

We live in a world full of voices claiming authority. Deuteronomy 18 pushes us to evaluate teaching, advice, and spiritual claims with discernment. Does it align with Scripture? Does it reflect God’s character? Does it hold up over time?

God provides clarity, not chaos. The promise of a true prophet shows that God doesn’t leave His people guessing; He speaks in ways that can be tested and trusted.
