Simple Offerings

by Zeke Flores

"Now when anyone presents a grain offering as an offering to the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour, and he shall pour oil on it and put frankincense on it" (Leviticus 2:1).

The grain offering was simple: no animal, no blood; just flour, oil, and frankincense. It was the everyday person’s offering, something anyone could bring. And that’s part of the beauty of it. God wasn’t only interested in the big, dramatic sacrifices; He welcomed the ordinary ones, too.

Most of our lives are made of “grain offering” moments:

  • Small acts of faithfulness.
  • Quiet prayers.
  • Simple kindness.
  • Choosing patience when you’re tired.
  • Serving someone without being noticed.

These aren’t flashy, but they matter deeply to God.

Fine flour had to be crushed and sifted. It took effort. And sometimes our “small” obedience feels like that; it costs us something. But God sees it. He values it. He receives it as worship.

If you ever feel like your life isn’t impressive enough or your service isn’t big enough, remember the grain offering. God delights in the simple things done with a sincere heart. Today, offer Him something small but genuine. It’s more meaningful than you think.
