God’s Victory Over Enemies

"Do not fear them, for Yahweh your God is the one fighting for you" (Deuteronomy 3:22).

Deuteronomy 3 highlights God's victory over powerful enemies, especially King Og of Bashan. Moses reminds Israel that God’s power supports them. This wasn’t just encouragement; it was a command rooted in experience. Israel had already seen God defeat enemies far stronger than they were.

Fear often shows up when we compare our strength to the size of the problem. Moses shifts their focus. The real comparison is between the problem and God’s strength. When you look at life that way, fear loses its grip. God didn’t ask Israel to pretend the enemy wasn’t intimidating; He asked them to remember who was fighting for them.

Think about the challenges you’re facing right now. Some may feel bigger than your abilities or resources. But Deuteronomy 3:22 reminds you that the battle isn’t yours alone. God steps into the fight with you. He doesn’t expect you to muster enough strength. He expects you to trust His.

Courage grows when we stop staring at the size of our problem and start remembering the size of our God.
