I would like to take a girl out, but she has had bad experiences with guys. How do I convince her I’m different?

Question:

How do you ask out a young lady who is so convinced that guys are all the same -- i.e they are liars and cheats in relationships? She is a nice young lady, hardworking with a good character but seems to have been hurt from previous relationships. I know I'm not perfect. But I definitely would not be like the 'other guys.' I respect women way too much for that. How do I convince her that I'm different? She won't even give me a chance to take her out to lunch.

Answer:

To show that you are not like other guys, you can't act like other guys. If you push, then she will see you are like the other guys who are pushy. What will do you better is to work at just being friends with her without pushing for a relationship. I can almost guarantee that the other guys never bothered to really get to know her.

"I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles or by the does of the field, do not stir up nor awaken love until it pleases" (Song of Solomon 2:7).

Response:

I hadn't considered it like that. What you are saying really makes sense. Thank you for your time.
