I recently learned I have ALS

I have recently been diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gerig Disease, I think it's called in the US). I am a strong, committed, and faithful believer in God; however, I am not immune to fear of the unknown. I know I only have a very short time left on earth, and will soon be joining my Savior in his kingdom. I am scared of losing my faculties and having to rely on other people. Your website has brought nothing but joy to me for the last few years and will continue to do so as this prison of a body will soon give up on me. Do you have any comforting scripture for me? I love "cast all your care upon him, for he careth for you."

I'm really sorry to hear about your disease. I've known a couple of people who have had it. For most people, your mind remains functional while you lose control of your muscles. It is that inability to do things for yourself and the difficulty in communicating that most people dread.
I'm glad that you found useful studies on this website. At least you can continue learning and will be able to continue offering up prayers to God. "Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you" (Philippians 4:4-9).
