I never talked to a man who recently died about Jesus? Am I now condemned?

Question:

Please help me, I am very scared. I have recently found God and I am trying to grow in my faith, but today a man died who I barely knew. He went to my school, but we never talked or anything and he is a lot older than me. I never told him about Jesus or repentance and now he is dead and I don't think he was saved. So my question is am I now damned? I am terrified because the Bible says if I don't warn people who are doing wicked that their blood will be on my head. I am so scared I think I might now be damned to hell.

Please answer.

Answer:

If you learn that you might have sinned, why do you conclude that sin cannot be repented of? "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (I John 1:9). To say that you can't be forgiven is to declare that God is not faithful or just.

In this particular case, there are millions of people who I will never have the opportunity to warn because I will never meet them. Since you never talked, how could you deliver a warning or even know if a warning was needed? Paul said, "Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith" (Galatians 6:10). The opportunity wasn't there. Focus on what you can do, not what you might have done if things were different. And when you do make a mistake, admit it to God and then strive harder in the future to not repeat that error.
