I keep committing sexual sins. Will God still forgive me?

Question:

I consider myself a Christain. But I keep committing sexual immoralities, and I ask God for forgiveness every single time. But I know it is wrong, and I keep doing it. Will God still ever forgive me?

Answer:

""But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. None of the transgressions which he has committed shall be remembered against him; because of the righteousness which he has done, he shall live. Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?" says the Lord GOD, "and not that he should turn from his ways and live?"" (Ezekiel 18:21-23).

It sounds to me that you are approaching the problem wrong. You are sorry for sinning but you don't take action to avoid sinning. "Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts" (Romans 13:13-14). What steps have you been taking to stay far from sin?

Many times we focus on the endpoint and forget that many things lead up to that conclusion. I've known many men who strive hard not to commit fornication, but they don't think about the sexual touching and the lust that leads up to fornication. They excuse the other behaviors, so long as they don't commit the "big sin." And yet they constantly find themselves where they don't want to be. If you don't want to commit sexual sins, then you can't be inflaming sexual desire. "Can a man take fire to his bosom, and his clothes not be burned? Can one walk on hot coals, and his feet not be seared? So is he who goes in to his neighbor's wife; whoever touches her shall not be innocent" (Proverbs 6:27-29).

I found the way you started out interesting. You consider yourself a Christian. I'm curious. Do you think God considers you to be a Christian? I would like you to read How to Become a Christian.
