How can I get a license without a bribe?

Question:

Hi,

I live in a country where there is a lot of corruption. It's so bad that just to get a driver's license you have to pay. You still have to do the test and you have to successfully maneuver the car, but you have to pay nonetheless, and if you don't you will fail. I think the major problem is that the tests are more subjective; hence, the marker has a lot of power. Is it proper in such scenarios to pay? Just do the driving lessons, take the test, and pay?

Answer:

"You shall not distort justice; you shall not be partial, and you shall not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and perverts the words of the righteous" (Deuteronomy 16:19).

Bribery has always been wrong. As the law of Moses explains, it causes corruption and bias. It is difficult when you live in a society where bribery is all too common, but as Christians, we have to abide by God's rules over man's.
