God Is with You

"Do not be afraid of them, for Yahweh your God is with you" (Deuteronomy 20:1).

Deuteronomy 20 addresses warfare, but its principle appears in Deuteronomy 20:1. Israel faced real enemies, not theoretical ones. Fear was a natural response, but Moses tells them to evaluate the situation differently. Their confidence wasn’t based on numbers or weapons. It was based on God’s presence. This doesn’t mean the battles weren’t serious. It means their perspective needed to be shaped by reality, not anxiety.

We face different kinds of battles, but the principle holds. When you’re confronted with something that feels overwhelming, the question isn’t whether you’re strong enough. It’s whether God is present. Deuteronomy 20:1 reminds us that fear shouldn’t be the deciding factor.

Take a moment to identify a challenge you’re dealing with. Then evaluate it with the right starting point. God is with you. That changes how you move forward.
