Global Warming
by Zeke Flores
Global warming, I mean "climate change," is on the minds of many. That the earth will warm a degree or two will bring catastrophic consequences, they say.
Perhaps. Perhaps not.
While concerned people fret about a fractional warming of our environment, it escapes them that a calamitous upward temperature change is on the horizon for many. To say hell is hot is a gross understatement, but worse than that will be the eternal ruin of a soul that could have averted such disaster.
Is it shocking to you to consider that a change in the climate has more effect on some men's lives than the dreaded prospect of hell? It should be shocking, and it ought to motivate us to “snatch them out of the fire” with all the urgency we can muster.
"... knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, 'Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.' For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished. But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly" (II Peter 3:3-7).
