Fill It Up
by Terry Wane Benton
What do you do when your heart feels empty? Moping around is not the answer! You must find ways to fill your heart and time with things that bring satisfaction and accomplishment to your life.
Notice the “be filled” passages in Ephesians. Be strengthened in the inner man (Ephesians 3:16). Be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:17). God “fills all”(Ephesians 1:23). That is a tall order, but “be filled with all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:19). That can’t happen by moping around.
Redeem the time you have by filling in the empty spaces of the heart with the great things of God! Be wise and productive with filling your thoughts with love and a whole lot of thankful thoughts. An unhappy heart is an unthankful heart. An unthankful heart is an empty, negative, and depressed heart. Let the sunshine in! Retrain your mind as to what you will dwell on and what you will fill it with. What thoughts are filling your heart? Do you need to change that input?
