Everyone Who Had Something to Give Contributed
by Zeke Flores
There's an interesting incident in Exodus 35: Everyone with something to contribute to the Tabernacle gave what they had. Whether it was cloth, wood, stone, spices, oil, or gold, Scripture repeatedly says, "They brought it." In fact, they brought so much that they had more than enough to do God's work, and Moses had to say, "OK, stop! We've got enough!"
Surely, we can see that the idea of bare, minimum, grudging service to God is not a sign of a devoted disciple, right? Are you bringing more than enough?
"Give, and it will be given back to you; a good measure -- pressed down, shaken together, and running over -- will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you" (Luke 6:38).
