Don’t you realize that there would be no children if people didn’t fornicate?

Question:

I believe your site is awful because when a young girl asks an honest worried opinion about sex or fornication or whatever you continue to say how disappointed you are in them. We all realize that having sex is a sin, but do you realize that there would be no children if people didn't fornicate? It is a sin, but our everlasting God gives us forgiveness if we ask for it! Giving every single girl a very mean lecture on how sex is a sin is not a way to explain to her if she is pregnant! You are a disgrace to all Christians if you believe what I am saying is wrong. Nobody can be perfect.

P.S. If you find anything in this message mean, then I suggest you take in the fact that God just forgave me when I asked for forgiveness.

Answer:

Yes, your note was as mean and as foul-mouthed as you intended to be. (The copy above has all the profanity removed.) And no, God did not grant forgiveness simply because you asked because you did not repent of the sin that you saw existed; instead, you sent the note anyway. "You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures" (James 4:2-3).

No, fornication is not required to have children. Most of the world's children come as a result of sex between a married couple. Fornication is sex outside of marriage, not within marriage. "Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge" (Hebrews 13:4). It is not a sin for a wife to have sex with her husband because no laws are broken.

Unlike you, I want people to be happy and reach heaven. Sex outside of marriage ruins people's lives and keeps them from serving God. "You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him" (Leviticus 19:17). For the same reason, I'm writing to you. You are so deep in sin you don't see the way out. You need to change or you'll be eternally lost. "I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish" (Luke 13:3).

What you refuse to see is that pregnancy is just a minor problem when compared to the damage sin is doing to people's lives. I'm here to help people find their way back to God. "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. Therefore He says: 'Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light'" (Ephesians 5:11-14). Yes, the truth hurts your dark-stained soul. So wake up! Leave the darkness behind and let the light of Christ shine in your life.
