Be Holy
by Zeke Flores
"For I am Yahweh your God. Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am holy" (Leviticus 11:44).
Leviticus 11 is full of clean and unclean animals, and it can feel distant. But the heart behind it is simple. God was teaching His people to live differently, not randomly, but purposefully. Every food choice reminded them, “You belong to Me.”
Holiness isn’t about being weird or rigid. It’s about being set apart for God. It’s choosing to live in a way that reflects His character. Israel learned this through dietary laws. We learn it through daily decisions:
- What we watch.
- How we speak.
- How we treat people.
- What we prioritize.
Holiness isn’t perfection; it’s direction. It’s choosing God’s way even when it’s not the easiest or most popular. And the reason is right in the verse: “For I am holy.” God calls us to reflect Him because He’s shaping us into His image.
Today, think about one area where God is nudging you toward holiness. Choose your identity; you belong to Him.
