Do miracles still happen?
Question:
Do miracles, such as healing, speaking in tongues, etc., still happen? I have seen videos on YouTube about how a very crippled woman was healed (her testimony), and another video of how a non-speaking boy was also healed and still speaks.
Answer:
Consider whether the evidence given would stand up in a court. Do you know the person? Do you have evidence that the person was truly crippled as claimed? Could it be faked? If the person doing the claimed healing was real, why isn't he mobbed as Jesus was?
Notice that one person only presented her own testimony. It takes two or three independent witnesses to establish the truth. Jesus said, "If I alone testify about Myself, My testimony is not true." (John 5:31). If that applies to the Son of God, how much should it apply to men?
When you compare these to the miracles recorded in the Bible, you find multiple witnesses, sometimes even hostile witnesses. The situation is documented with changes that an actor could not fake.
God does answer prayers, but the time of instant miracles done by the hands of men has ended as God said it would. See "Have Miracles Ceased?"
