Why are evolutionists so ignorant?

Question:

Hello Jeffrey,

I hope all is well! Thanks for always using scriptures! I do have a question: Why are evolutionists so ignorant? I was reading about explanations of how 80 whale fossils ended up in the desert and also how the world's largest shark went extinct due to "an unknown global destructive event". They try to explain it away by tabbing the fossils at millions of years with no precedent for the number of years. Then present questions, like what was the major event that wiped a lot of creatures out, when literally all the questions are answered by the biblical flood account, literally all questions. I also now believe dinosaurs never existed with the little fossil evidence we have too, it was just paleontologists with an overactive imagination. Like there are so many inconsistencies and holes in their theories and they are embarrassing themselves in my humble opinion. But sorry about the rant. My question is why are evolutionists so ignorant?

Sometimes I get angry when reading some of their explanations. I don't know if that is the correct reaction or not, but it's just a bunch of foolishness. and I believe it needs to stop because it is poisoning this generation and the next generation's minds by forcing it on students at school. It's a flat-out abomination in my opinion. Is there anything I can do to help stop this tomfoolery? Like how would you approach an evolutionist about the Word? I have tried the approach of using factual evidence from scriptures, challenging their theory, and then gradually trying to invite them to study.

How would you go about it?

Answer:

What you are seeing is a common trait among people. People strongly tend to only see what they expect to find. Consider the apostles: Jesus told them repeatedly that he would die but be raised on the third day; yet the disciples either denied his statements, didn't understand him, or acted as if he hadn't said it (Matthew 16:21-22; 20:17-21; Mark 9:31-32). Everyone is afflicted with this problem. It is the foundation upon which illusionists build to do their tricks. They get the audience distracted with their own expectations, to the point that they often miss what is happening right in front of them.

Evolutionists start with a complete belief that everything we see is a result of gradual changes. That belief is so firm that any contrary evidence is overlooked, denied, or sometimes even destroyed. "The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness" (II Thessalonians 2:9-11).

As Christians, we have to love truth, even with truth may show us what we do not expect or might even hurt our feelings.

There are a number of animal species that have died out within recent recorded history, such as the dodo bird and the passenger pigeon. That other species might have been wiped out before then should not surprise us. In regards to dinosaurs, there is mention of two in the Scriptures (see: Did dinosaurs really exist?). There is no need to take an extreme position of denying evidence just because Evolutionists deny the Scriptures. Where I would disagree with the Evolutionists is in their time scale. Along with the Scriptures, there are numerous other pieces of evidence around the world that indicate that dinosaurs and mankind co-existed.

It is too easy to respond with annoyance or even anger when something doesn't go the way you think it should. We seem to make up for our lack of control with anger, but anger doesn't solve the problem. While you and I don't agree with the Evolutionists, their blindness ends up making them look foolish. Just stick to the truth. Truth doesn't change, but current popular beliefs are constantly shifting. Eventually, it comes to light that those advocating the truth were right all along.
