While I am not a Christian, I respect your willingness to use the whole Bible

Question:

This is more of a comment, but still a question none the less. From the looks of your site and the information, you are the minister of a church that believes going by the Bible for everything. If that is right (which I'm 90% sure), I'm proud that there is a Christian church that will go by all of the Bible, not pick and choose what to believe and practice. I am no Christian, nor do I believe in God, I'm actually a Unitarian Universalist that is quite hostile to "Bible Bangers", but not Christians in general. But your Church is one I respect very very much because you follow your faith in the Bible as much as possible, and I think that your Church has probably the truest Christians I have ever heard of. Not sure how much that means to you, since I'm a non-believer, but I thought I should tell you anyway.

Answer:

Thank you very much for your kind words. Yes, I strongly believe that it is my duty to follow Peter's admonition, "If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen" (I Peter 4:11). This is why you find the website filled with scriptural references, and oftentimes quotes, to back up what is being taught. I want people to look at the Bible, double-check what I have said, and read the context of the passage because then people are learning what God has said and not this preacher in the middle of the United States. "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world" (I John 4:1).

As you may have noticed, we do believe in the existence of God, there is too much evidence in the world to ignore the fact that God does exist. "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead ..." (Romans 1:20). We also believe that God has not taken a hands-off approach to His creation, but is actively involved because of His love and that He has given us guidance by giving us a book like no other. "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work" (II Timothy 3:16-17).

While you declare that you do not believe in God or His Word, it is my earnest hope that such will not always be the case. I invite you to examine our faith and our Book and see which is more reasonable, your current beliefs or that found in the Bible.
