Stop criticizing what you don’t understand

Question:

There is so much negative sentiment and false understanding of the Catholic church found on your website. I pray that someday you may have the opportunity to get the actual answers you seek and begin to understand the fullness of the Christian faith in his church. Until then please stop criticizing what you do not understand and interpret to be true.

Answer:

"Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ" (Colossians 2:8).

Disagreeing with a religion's beliefs does not mean the one disagreeing is wrong. If that were true, you condemned God who condemned the Jews for their idolatry and insincere worship, Jesus for condemning the hypocrisy of the Jews, and apostles for scolding Christians who were living as they should. Actually, by your standard, you shouldn't be criticizing me because it means you are criticizing what you don't understand.

The charge of false understanding or not understanding is false since I document the Catholic view from Catholic sources. It is easy to claim "you don't understand me," but the claim is not evidence. That I have documented contradictions to God's teaching in respect to Roman Catholic teachings doesn't mean I misunderstand the Catholic view of things.

And finally, the fact that you don't like this information isn't a reflection of its accuracy.
