Is there a second chance of salvation after death?
Question:
Is there a second chance of salvation after death?
Answer:
"And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment" (Hebrews 9:27).
The writer is clear that this life is our chance to do God's will. After this life is over, what comes next is our Judgment.
"For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad" (II Corinthians 5:10).
Notice that the basis of our judgment is the things we did in our body; that is, before our death. Since we cannot live twice in this world, we do not have a second chance. Nor can a change be made after death.
"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going" (Ecclesiastes 9:10).
